United for Life: the Congolese community of Abitibi-Témiscamingue supports the Kidney Foundation of Canada

In March 2026, the Congolese community of Abitibi-Témiscamingue mobilized in Rouyn-Noranda in support of the Kidney Foundation of Canada. The initiative placed solidarity, health and community engagement at the heart of local action.

Community as a force for change

The event went beyond fundraising: it affirmed that health, dignity and support for people living with kidney disease concern the whole community. Supporting research, patient services and awareness means supporting life.

Solidarity beyond borders

By acting in the region, COCAT-RDC showed how civic engagement can bring culture, philanthropy and public health together. Members, partners, allies and residents gathered around one goal: making a concrete difference.

Beyond the funds raised, the initiative carried a lasting message: every action matters and generosity helps build a fairer, more humane society.
